     Homework:

          Your child will be expected to study for quizzes and tests. If they struggle with getting work done in class time, this will result in them having to spend more time at home completing assigned work.  On the other hand if your child is one who wants more work to do at home, I always have extra practice they can ask for.  It is not an expectation that they ask for it and it will not go towards their letter grades.  I would really appreciate your feedback, throughout the year if you feel your child is spending too much time on homework. All in all, this is what homework should consist of in grade 5:
 

• Reading every night for 10 to 15 minutes

• Any work that they haven't completed in class (sufficient time is most often given to complete in class)

• Studying for quizzes/tests, some worksheets

 

Please communicate with me if your child is spending too much time completing work at home and we can adjust the work load if need be.  Thank you!
